Well it's the end of my board term as past president and it is bittersweet yet opens up so many more opportunities. So you may ask why did I title this mentorship. Through my years progressing from member, committee involvement, board responsibilities to president I've learned that the best you can bring is to help others and show them the many paths careers take, moans and groans about work, situations and celebrations of successes and be a strong shoulder. Sometimes you even need support and a sounding board. Looking back I'm proud to have been able to help others, encouraging them to take a step forward, offering advise, reviewing a resume or giving suggestions or offering introductions to others. I feel that as part of the "greater" smps community it is an important role to give back. Speaking of other opportunities I look forward to getting involved in our chapter's bridge program a summer marketing internship program pairing university sophomores and juniors to the AEC marketing community. Our industry is truly in need of entry level marketers and many graduates are unaware of our industry marketing needs and opportunities. Will keep you posted and look forward to seeing everyone at Build Business in Los Angeles.
